NEEDLE EXCHANGE SERVICES
Sterile syringes are provided on a free and anonymous basis to registered
participants of our program. Sharing syringes, cookers, and cotton puts you at risk of HIV transmission, so use a
clean needle for every injection. Exchange used needles for clean ones at our drop-in center at 43 Avenue C
(between 3rd and 4th Streets) at the following times:

EAR ACUPUNCTURE
Five point ear acupuncture is excellent for stress reduction and detoxification. Reducing your stress levels keeps you healthy and feeling better.

COUNSELING AND CASE MANAGEMENT
Need help with housing? Having problems with welfare? Need to see a doctor but don't have Medicaid?
Would you like to find out what your options are for drug detox, rehab, or substance use management?
Would you like to learn what you can do to reduce your risk of getting HIV?
Or do you just need someone to talk to? Counseling and case management services are available to help drug users stabilize their lives.
You set your own goals! We're here to help you get there. Case management and counseling services,
including Crisis Intervention, are available to drug users at the following times:

ON-SITE HEALTH SERVICES
If you need to see a doctor who won't be judgmental about your drug use, come see us.
We can hook you up with abscess care, general medical evaluations, STD testing and treatment,
HIV testing and pre- and post-test counseling, GYN services, family planning, pregnancy testing, and referrals;
TB testing, and more.
HOLISTIC HEALING AND REIKI NANDS-ON HEALING
Holistic Healing and Reiki Hands-on Healing available by appointment. People living with HIV/AIDS can discuss their
holistic health care options, including Reiki and healing touch, herbology, massage, and other therapies.

SERVICES FOR WOMEN
On Thursday afternoon, our drop-in center at 39 Avenue C is a Women-only space.
Come share your strength and get the love you need from other women from the community.
This program, run by women for women, offers a broad array of services, including support groups,
teach-ins on issues of concern, workshops, and Days of Pampering.
Call to find out what's coming up on the schedule, or drop by any Thursday afternoon from 1pm to 5pm.
VOLUNTEER PROGRAM
Be part of a grassroots, community based movement here on the Lower East Side.
Find out what you can do to give back to your community.
We offer trainings and support and regular counseling to our volunteers.
The goal of our program is to help each volunteer meet his or her individual life goals.

POSITIVE ACTION PEER PROGRAM
For communities working to fight the AIDS crisis, there's so much we need to know.
We offer peer HIV educator training over a three month cycle three times a year.
Participants receive comprehensive training on harm reduction, HIV/AIDS, new treatments available,
and what drug users can do to reduce the risk of HIV transmission.

SUPPORT GROUPS
Our support groups offer the opportunity to share strategies and get support from people
who know what you're going through, or at least are willing to listen.
We offer several groups that meet weekly so that everyone will feel comfortable.
Groups include a Life Management Group, Men's Open Discussion, Women's HIV Living Well Group,
a weekly meditation group, and more.
Call for details, new groups, and times and locations.
YOUTH DROP-IN
People age 23 and younger whose life situations (homelessness, drug use, stress, etc.)
put them at risk for HIV can come and join our Thursday night youth drop in.
Workshops on abandoned building renovation, safer piercing practices, putting together a zine;
counseling and services, and a hot meal. Thursdays from 6pm to 9pm.
LEGAL SERVICES
Our staff attorney is available to assist with entitlements eligibility, housing, discrimination,
and similar issues, and advise you on your legal rights in dealing with the criminal justice system.
